Trainer Gets 1st IRS "A" Main Win

LOVES PARK, IL. (Saturday, July 31st, 2010) The 25-lap Illini Midgets headliner got off to a fast start as the red flag flew on lap two for a hard accident involving Doug Orseske and Patrick Bruns in turn four. Bruns went for a wild ride caroming off the wall and flipping over before coming to a rest at the bottom of the track. Eddie Sauer snatched the lead on the restart as Tyler Trainer closed in. Another caution flew two laps later for a solo spin by Kurt Mayhew on the frontstretch. Sauer immediately came under fire from Trainer on the restart, succumbing to the pressure before dropping to third. Fast qualifier Derrick Gough and dave Ohlendorf were battling for the bridesmaid's position when they made contact and Ohlendorf slapped the turn two wall bringing out another yellow with 14 laps remaining. Gough put the heat on Trainer right away as the action resumed taking several peeks on the inside entering the turns. Charlie Holt's spin in turn one halted the proceedings and set up a four-lap shootout between Trainer and Gough. Gough closed up fast as the green flew and dove to the inside of Trainer's car looking for the win, even putting his nose out front at one point but couldn't quite make it stick, settling for second as Trainer collected his first feature win of the season. "We've been trying all year to get a win and those last couple laps we had some issues," a relieved Trainer stated in victory lane. "I have to thank my team and my sponsors for helping me out. It was tough but we finally got it done." Gough claimed second as Lamont Critchett snagged third. Rookie Mike Gass had a great run finishing fourth while Sauer held on for a top five in fifth.

Denver, CO. (August 11, 2010) - Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) midget driver Julee Jamison made history at the 33rd Annual Speedway Motors Belleville Midget Nationals this past weekend.

Jamison out of Highlands Ranch, CO, driving the Champion Enterprise, Private Capital Lending Bullet/Esslinger Bryan Jamison owned Midget made the 40 Lap "A" Feature Saturday night by qualifying out of the "B" Feature. Jamison became the 2nd female Midget driver in the history of the Belleville Midget Nationals along with being the first RMMRA female Midget driver to qualify for the "Big Show". Along with being the 2nd female to make it into the "Big Show", Jamison received the "Hard Charger Award" for Friday and Saturday Night and the Sportsmanship Award as well.

'We went out as a low budget team and we feel like we definitely held our own. I feel like if we had sponsors and better equipment we would improve our program and run a lot more shows and get more experience under our belts. After being the second female driver to ever make the Belleville Midget Nationals and finishing 15th, 5 positions better than Sarah McCune" ( the first female in the country to make the Belleville Midget Nationals), "I feel very accomplished as a female driver. It was even more amazing to win the sportsmanship award and the hard charger award both nights at Belleville. The fans were awesome and it felt good to hear them cheer. The promoters were very respectful and made me feel welcome, "said Jamison.

"I would like to give special thanks to the people on my crew that took time away from work to help and support the team. Tony Rossi and his team including Bill and Ron have been so much help regardless of having their own team and problems this year to deal with".

REGIONAL/WOMS MIDGETS JOIN SILVER CROWN THURSDAY AT BERLIN;

GALEDRIGE LEADS ALL THE WAY TO WIN AT SPRINGPORT

Dalton Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. will try to protect his point lead in both t he 2010 USAC Regional and USAC/WOMS Midgets series this Thursday when the Midgets compete at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. as part of the “Great Lakes 150” program at the 7/16-mile paved oval.

The Midgets share billing with the USAC Silver Crown Series, which will conduct a 150-lap race, the first-ever for USAC’s Silver Crown cars in the state of Michigan.

Bradley Galedrige of Brownsburg, Ind. led all 25 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC/WOMS Regional Midget feature at Springport (Mich.) Motor Speedway. Galedrige was trailed at the checkered flag by Armstrong, Dillon Welch, Nick Wagner and Chris Phillips.

Armstrong has a 52-point lead over Welch in the Regional standings and is 33 ahead of Welch in the WOMS points.

ARDC SET TO RETURN TO ACCORD SPEEDWAY THIS FRIDAY

ARDC will return to Accord Speedway this Friday night to makeup the race that was rained out on July 16th. A full field, of Wingless Midgets, were already pitside set for action on the neat little high banked track when a thunder storm struck and dumped buckets of water on the speedway. Also on the card are, Modifieds, Sportsman, Spec Sportsman, Pure Stock and Pro Stocks.

Steve Buckwalter will be looking to pick up his third consecutive win after a thrilling victory last Friday night when the midgets raced at Dixieland Speedway in Elizabeth City, NC. Buckwalter who also won at Mercer Raceway Park leads the ARDC in the points and has eight wins this season.

Currently standing second in points, Drew Heistand is still searching for his first win of the season. Heistand, who has been the model of consistency, has to be the odds on favorite for a win since he is undefeated in his last two Accord visits.

Ryan Smith will be looking to improve his finish by just one spot after finishing behind Buckwalter in the last two races. The versatile race from Kunkletown, PA is currently third in the point standings.

On hand to challenge the top three in points will be a host of rookie talent. Alex Bright, Tim Buckwalter and Steve Drevicki, all in their first year, behind the wheel of a Midget, bring a wealth of experience in other divisions and all have challenged for the lead over the past few weeks.

Gates open at 5:00pm with racing getting underway at 7:00pm.

“Clauson scores second straight Belleville championship”

Belleville, Kan., Aug. 7---Bryan Clauson scored his second straight victory capturing the 33rd annual Speedway Motor Belleville Midget Nationals Saturday Night at The Belleville High Banks. Clauson joins Stan Fox (1979-80) and Kasey Kahne (2000-01) as the only drivers to win back-to-back events.

The event got off to a rocky start when Andrew Felker flipped on the opening lap, and on the second lap the caution was displayed for a stalled car. On the restart Clauson and Sweet pulled away from the field, and began lapping cars on the eighth lap.

On Lap 14 Clauson got trapped behind two slower cars giving Sweet the lead exiting turn 2. Sweet brushed the backstretch, giving Clauson back the top position. On lap later Zach Daum stalled on the track bringing out the caution.

Clauson and Sweet continued to be the fastest, as the duo again separated themselves from the balance of the field. Julee Jaimson spun on lap 21 bringing out the caution. On the restart attention turned to Dave Darland who stopped for a new tire on Lap 15. Darland charged through the field and moved into fourth position, before retiring from the event.

Clauson and Sweet were separated by one car length as they began lapping the field with ten laps remaining. The final caution appeared on Lap 33. On the restart Clauson opened his lead to three-car lengths over Sweet.

Clauson driving the Corey Tucker owned Parker Stone-BCI Spike/Ford-Esslinger no. 39 finished 1.13 second ahead of Sweet. It marked the second straight runner-up finish for the 2008 Belleville Champion. Jerry Coons Jr., Brad Kuhn, and Davey Ray completed the top five. Darren Hagen, Henry Clarke, Shane Golobic, Kevin Swindell and Tracy Hines rounded the top ten. Fifteen drivers finished the event with the top ten finishing on the lead lap.
